The instrumental for this track started life as a remix of an Erykah Badu track. At that time I was involved in Louis Den Beat Battles, The Beat Inn with Ty and various competitions like Indaba so I’d regularly create remixes.

This track followed a different process to usual as the saxophone by Ben was already recorded by the time Phil was involved. At this point Phil and I were recording regularly. He was living in the Midlands and would travel to Bristol for weekends to spend a couple of days in the studio at a time working on new music for myself, Herma Puma, Donnie Numeric and other collaborations.

Phil writes a lot about faith and personal development, and his lyrics on this track are true to form, sang eloquently and passionately. There was just under a 2 year period between the first instrumental being created and the track being in it’s final form.
