I initially met Relly in 2012 through a free Hip Hop
festival I setup in Bristol called XLR and later through
youth work and crossing paths via a few local MCs and
nights.

TLTL was recorded over the course of 2 sessions at
Street Soul Studios. I’d not long setup the studio after a
successful Kickstarter campaign, and was keen to try
out the booth! Relly as ever wrote the perfect bars. The
instrumental began its life through the Beat Inn, a well
loved beat community setup by the late great Ty. Each
week we would have a new sample to flip and this was
one of them.

The track resonated with both of us at the time, as we
were both pushing with music and hoping develop our
careers. Relly’s line “I do it for the love but it’s about
time you paid me” has always stuck with me. Relly
references Delegates Of Rhyme due to a number of tracks
he and Donnie worked on during that time.
