This track was created over the course of two years. In 2009 I met Jagos whilst creating the XLR Festival. We worked closely on the festival and various youth projects, including a masterclass in Birmingham in 2010. During the evenings we worked on a number of track ideas using both Logic and Ableton through rewiring to maximise the soundscape possibilities. Handle was borne from these sessions. Jagos soon after this quit production, so I continued to complete the tracks.

At this time my band Genius Collective were regularly gigging in Birmingham alongside some amazing bands, including 4 Oz Of Groove, whose lead singer was the incredible Andrea Brown. This was the only song we managed to record, as we were both busy gigging and recording for our own projects. The saxophonist for my band, Ben Smith, got involved once Andrea had recorded her vocals, and Joe Bird added the finishing touches with some scratches to bring the hook and bridges to life.
