Ben was a friend, mentor and constant inspiration. I was first introduced to Ty’s music with Upwards, which became a soundtrack for me for a number of years. I first met him after lots of MySpace conversations (!) 15 years ago at a masterclass he was running and we stayed in touch ever since.

His music guided and influenced my own production, and I wanted to create something to say thank you musically, and as a final conversation in a way.

The track features Jabba The Kut, who was also influenced and inspired by Ty, alongside live drums by London based drummer Gaspar Sena. The Ty audio is taken from an interview I did with him in 2016 when we were regularly talking during a transitional phase in his career. The interview meant a lot to me, as did our friendship and connection.

It has hard to quantify the impact that Ty has had on so many lives. To support his legacy check out the newly formed Pass The Torch Foundation - www.typassthetorch.org

The photo on the cover is by Ellie Ramsden from the piece we collaborated on for Wordplay Magazine, and the cover is a tribute to Closer.
