Late into her career Aretha stepped away from her life long major label success and created some music that she truly loved, with noone else dictating to her what to do. She transcended music, and has become an icon of hope, creativity and equality. Aretha has been a musical inspiration for years, having grown up on her music alongside so many of the greats of the true R&B and Soul era. Having heard the news that Aretha had passed, myself and Thalassic wanted to create some music that responded to our emotions, not overthought, just in the moment.
